How You Can Help

Volunteer needs

  • After school program: 4-6 pm, once a week. Help in classroom with children in one of four age groups, k-2nd, 3-5th, 6-8th and 9-12th. Act as a class aid to the teacher. Help with homework, recreation times, chapel times, arts and crafts.  Specific need for people who understand high school subjects.
  • Tutoring various ages (your choice): Tuesdays 5:30-6:20 pm. Work one-on-one with a child who needs extra academic help.  We make an effort to pair our volunteers with the same student every week to form good relationships.
  • Building clean up: Someone to come once a week and mop floors, clean bathrooms, clean kitchen. 
  • Licensed electrician expertise, and Plumber expertise: Donate work for various repairs. 
  • Body shop person: Fix dent in our van for free or very low cost.
  • Group(s) to help with a parent dinner meal preparation and clean up: Our dinners are once a month on a Thursday evening.  Group can choose month.

Donated items that help our budget costs    

  • Computer paper: white 20 weight and colors- 24 weight
  • Gift Cards to Staples or Office Max: for printer ink
  • Paper goods: tissues, toilet papers, paper towels, large 33 gallon & kitchen 13 gal trash bags, plastic cups, sizes 5 oz, 9 oz., plastic forks, napkins, etc.
  • Food donated for parent dinners: hamburger, taco shells, cheese, Parmesan grated cheese, frozen chicken, cans of beans, ice tea or lemonade mixes (call for more specifics)
  • Gift cards: to Michaels or AC MOORE, JoAnne Fabrics or Walmart for arts supplies or dance costumes
  • Recreational items: footballs, basketballs, jump ropes, etc.
  • Used X-box machine and games or Super Nintendo machines and games: Non-violent
  • Computer games: fun and educational that are at least XP compatible
  • Used Leap Frog or Quantum Leap Pads:  with books and inserts to go with the machines. Various kinds for all ages.

Support Us Financially

 

Those who give financially are definitely part of the work of this ministry.  This is very valuable, not something lesser, but something wonderful. It greatly helps us when we have God’s people believing in what we are doing and supporting us.

$500/month = $6,000/year.  Pays for two part time summer staff

$300/month = $3,600/year.  Pays for a part time school year teacher’s salary for 3 months

$100/month = $1,200/year.  Covers our liability insurance, or snack for the kids for the year

              

                   Give a One Time Gift

        

$1000  Pays for our Tutoring Coordinator’s salary for 2 months

                   $500   Pays for food for our Monthly Parent Dinners for the year

                   $300   Pays for our monthly incentive field trips for the school year

$100   Pays for printer ink and paper for our student computers us
