Basketball ages 9-12
As part of our daily after school program we play basketball games once a week against another after school program, Bethesda Mission Youth Center. This is a fun time for both teams and a chance for the kids to practice team work and build skills. We dream of having our own gym some day.
Field Trips
On our field trips we try to expose the children to new experiences that many of them would otherwise never have, as well as rewarding them for their good behavior each month.
Some of the places we visit:
Cassels Horse Boarding Farm,
The Christmas Tree Farm,
Roller Skating Parties,
The movies,
Dorney Park
Sierra Club Inner-city Outings: Our friends in the Sierra Club take some of the children out to explore nature once a month.
Summer Camp: Many of our youth go to weeklong camps at Mt. Lou San Bible Camp and Kings Kids Camp.
Thank you to the Sierra Club, Mt. Lou San Bible Camp, and Kings Kids Camp for making these experiences possible.
Service Projects:
The city of Harrisburg has been implementing various programs to attempt to keep the street cleaner. At least once a year the children participate in the local street clean up, giving back to the community.
